Day 1 Amman: Willkommen in Jordanien

Day 2 Amman: Gerasa und der Norden

Heute geht es von Amman in den Norden zu uralten Obstgärten und historischen Stätten. Diese Region ist Teil des Fruchtbaren Halbmonds und dementsprechend reich an landwirtschaftlicher Tradition und unglaublichen Geschichten von römischen Eroberern, christlichen Kirchen, dem Aufstieg des Islam und Angriffen der Kreuzfahrer. Day 3 Amman: Küche und Kultur

Mit am besten lernst du eine Stadt und ihre Bewohner über ihre Küche und Kultur kennen und der heutige Tag in Amman ist der beste Beweis dafür. An historischen Stätten hörst du Geschichten aus der Vergangenheit und an den Imbissständen mit frisch zubereiteten Speisen und beim Kaffee mit einer einheimischen Familie erlebst du die Gegenwart hautnah. Mach dich bereit, in die großen Geschichten des Amman von gestern und heute einzutauchen

Day 4 Biosphärenreservat Dana: Spektakuläre Naturlandschaften

Vom Berg Nebo aus hat Moses angeblich erstmals das gelobte Land erblickt. Wie schön es damals gewesen sein muss – und immer noch ist! Wandere in das Biosphärenreservat Dana, wo sich schon lange vor Erfindung der Schrift Menschen angesiedelt haben. Hier vor dem Hintergrund der weiten Halbwüste befindet sich die Feynan Ecolodge, die sich dem Schutz der schönsten Naturlandschaften des Landes verschrieben hat. Atme die Atmosphäre einer vergangenen Zeit und verbringe einen idyllischen Abend bei Kerzenschein in dieser Hütte tief in den Bergen

Day 5 Biosphärenreservat Dana nach Petra: Dein OMG-Tag

Eines der schönste Geschenke beim Reisen ist es, die Welt aus neuen Perspektiven zu sehen. Wir Menschen sind von Natur aus neugierig und wollen uns mit der großen Welt um uns herum verbinden und sie verstehen. Und heute kannst du wählen, auf welche Weise du das machen willst. Du kannst entweder mit einem Beduinenschäfer unterwegs sein und diese einzigartige Lebensart hautnah erleben oder eine Beduinenfamilie besuchen und ihre Kultur kennenlernen und gemeinsam traditionelle Speisen zubereiten

Day 6 Petra: Wanderung zum alten Hintereingang

Die über 260 km² große Felsenstadt Petra ist eines der bekanntesten Kulturdenkmäler der Welt und eines der Neuen Sieben Weltwunder. Nur 15 % davon wurden bislang ausgegraben. Die Stadt birgt also immer noch unzählige Mysterien und Geheimnisse, die vermutlich für immer verborgen bleiben werden. Wir werden sie wohl nie mehr so sehen können wir zu ihrer Blütezeit, als 20.000 Menschen hier lebten, aber das soll dich nicht daran hindern, deinen Entdeckerhut aufzusetzen und den uralten Pfad von Little Petra nach Petra zu gehen – ein ganz besonderer Weg, um diese Stätte abseits der Massen zu betreten

Day 7 Wadi Rum: Wüstenlandschaften

Erlebe den Sonnenaufgang in der zeitlosen roten Felsenstadt. Sieh zu, wie die Morgensonne das wunderbare und geheimnisvolle Petra in warmes goldenes Licht taucht und fühle dich, als würdest du diese vor über 2000 Jahren von den Nabatäern in den Fels gehauene Stadt als erster Mensch entdecken. Der Zahn der Zeit konnte diesem spektakulären Kulturdenkmal nichts anhaben. Dann geht die Reise durch Jordanien weiter in Richtung Süden zum sandigen Tal des Wadi Rum

Day 8 Totes Meer: Wandern im Wadi Himara und schwimmen

Like travel, the power of water knows no bounds, which you will see evidence of even in the middle of a desert. Take in the shockingly pink hue of the Pink Lake and Salt Beach then follow it up by submerging yourself in the Dead Sea, making you feel weightless in water that feels lighter than air

Day 9 Amman/Cairo

Say your final goodbye to Jordan and board your flight to Egypt today. Spend the remainder of the day settling in and exploring Cairo on your own terms with free time

Day 10 Giza: The Great Pyramid, Sphinx, & Community Farming

Consider the sheer, staggering scale of the undertaking required to construct these pyramids and contemplate the ancient ingenuity while you marvel at their impressive structures. Ponder the mysteries still held within their immense stone blocks – secrets of their construction, the lives of those who built them, and the pharaohs they eternally entombed – mysteries that continue to captivate and challenge archaeologists, historians, and scientists to this very day. While none of this was new to the locals, seeing them for the first time can take your breath away

Day 11 Aswan: Your OMG day

There’s nothing quite like the freedom of choice while travelling. After flying from Cairo to Aswan you will choose to explore one of two incredible Egyptian temples. Aswan sits near the dam that formed Lake Nassar. The world united around the mission to save the Abu Simbel and Philae temples from being submerged forever in the rising waters of the lake. A global effort was put in place to dismantle and rebuild the temples at a site above the high water mark. That feat of humanity meant that these temples were saved for travellers to continue to enjoy today

Day 12 Aswan to Kom Ombo: Sailing the Nile

Our journey north begins today along the Nile aboard a traditional dahabiya. Sail past farmlands and small islands that have forever been bathed by rich nutrients, creating fertile land in a narrow green ribbon along the river's banks, surrounded by desert on both sides. Our day ends as we dock near Gebal El Silseila, the perfect vantage point for a sunset on the Nile

Day 13 Kom Ombo to Luxor: People along the Nile

The sails are up and your first full day of sailing on the Nile. Get ready to discover incredible sites and enjoy an experience only possible on your dahabiya

Day 14 Luxor: Egypt's Great Temples & Local Hospitality

Embark on an early morning excursion to delve into the tombs of the Valley of the Kings and the temples of the West Bank. While tales of ancient curses persist, the genuine challenge lies in the limited time available to thoroughly explore each tomb. The amazement you feel is profound when your eyes first see the great temples of Egypt. You immediately understand why for centuries people have been coming here to explore and observe these incredible monuments

Day 15 Luxor: Departure Day

Your adventure comes to an end, and you can depart at any time today. You may be leaving Egypt behind, but the experiences you have will last forever

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Amman: Willkommen in Jordanien

Ankunft zu jeder Zeit. Nach dem Begrüßungstreffen mit den Mitreisenden und dem CEO gibt es ein leckeres Abendessen im Restaurant Tawaheen Al Hawa, bei dem du ganz in die Küche von Amman und Jordanien eintauchen kannst.

Day 2 Amman: Gerasa und der Norden

Set out on a morning hike in the crisp, fresh air from Ajloun Castle through the local olive fields and farms. After, take a private transfer to Mar Elias Church before continuing on to a group lunch and in-depth visit to our G for Good cafe, Beit Khayrat Souf, owned and operated by a team of women. Visit Jerash before travelling back to Amman for a free evening.

Day 3 Amman: Küche und Kultur

Der Tag beginnt mit dem Besuch der Zitadelle und des Römischen Amphitheaters. Danach gibt es einen Spaziergang durch die Innenstadt mit ihren Ständen mit Gewürzen, Gemüse, Handwerk und frischen Speisen. Iss zu Mittag wie die Einheimischen und entdecke das Beste der Imbissstände. Danach geht es raus aus dem Stadtzentrum und zu einer einheimischen Familie, bei der du einen seltenen authentischen Einblick in das Leben der Beduinen bekommst. Danach freier Abend.

Day 4 Biosphärenreservat Dana: Spektakuläre Naturlandschaften

Travel to Mt. Nebo’s ridgeline for spectacular views then drive to St. George Church. See the mosaics of Madaba and enjoy lunch in Dana Village, prepared by members of the local community. Stretch those legs as you wander through the lush, elevated terrain surrounding Fenyan Lodge to reveal panoramic vistas of the valley below.

Day 5 Biosphärenreservat Dana nach Petra: Dein OMG-Tag

Heute hast du zwei verschiedene Aktivitäten zur Auswahl: Du kannst entweder den Tag mit einem Schäfer verbringen oder bei einem Kochkurs das tägliche Leben der Beduinen kennenlernen. Am Nachmittag Fahrt in den Süden nach Petra und dann freier Abend.

Day 6 Petra: Wanderung zum alten Hintereingang

Beginne den Tag in Little Petra, das viele auslassen, das aber neben seinem berühmten großen Nachbarn einen ganz eigenen Charme hat. Mach dann die Wanderung auf dem uralten Weg, der zum Hintereingang von Petra beim Kloster (Ad Deir) führt. Unterwegs machst du eine wohlverdiente Pause, um dir dein Lunchpaket schmecken zu lassen. Dann geht es weiter zum Vordereingang von Petra und zu einer Besichtigung der Stätte und dann zum Hotel. Runde den Tag in dieser unglaublichen Landschaft ab mit freier Zeit in der Stadt Petra.

Day 7 Wadi Rum: Wüstenlandschaften

Besuche Petra nochmal bei Sonnenaufgang. Danach Fahrt zum Wadi Rum für eine Jeeptour durch die Dünen und eine leichte Wanderung. Zurück im Lager kannst du den Sonnenuntergang in der Wüste beobachten und mit der Gruppe ein leckeres Abendessen genießen.

Day 8 Totes Meer: Wandern im Wadi Himara und schwimmen

Fahrt zum Toten Meer und Wanderung am Fluss durch Wadi Himara. Danach Schwimmen im Toten Meer. Abends gibt es ein Abschiedsessen mit der Gruppe, wo ihr Geschichten von euren Abenteuern austauschen könnt.

Day 9 Amman/Cairo

Day 10 Giza: The Great Pyramid, Sphinx, & Community Farming

Start the day in Giza, exploring the Great Pyramid site and the Sphinx. Follow this with lunch at Nawaya to experience a G Adventures-supported community farming initiative. Then transfer to the The Grand Egyptian Museum to discover more of Egypt’s impressive history.

Day 11 Aswan: Your OMG day

Board a flight to Aswan in the morning and then have the choice between two activity options to discover Abu Simbel Temple or Philae Temple. You can’t go wrong with either experience as they both allow an authentic taste of history and life along the Nile.

Day 12 Aswan to Kom Ombo: Sailing the Nile

This morning you can choose to pre-book a visit to Philae Temple if you chose Abu Simbel yesterday. Otherwise you will have a free, leisurely morning before the group boards the dahabiya, your OMG Stay. Sail north on the Nile to Kom Ombo and visit the temple here before docking for the evening nearby.

Day 13 Kom Ombo to Luxor: People along the Nile

Sail further north along the Nile today towards Luxor. Along the way visit Gebal Silsila and Esna Temple. Then, go for a walk in Esna Village before sailing to Luxor and having dinner on board.

Day 14 Luxor: Egypt's Great Temples & Local Hospitality

Visit the iconic Valley of the Kings in the morning before a local family-hosted lunch on the West Bank. Then, tour Karnak Temple before checking in at the hotel to get settled and have some free time. After dark the group will visit Luxor by night to enjoy the monument all lit up. Choose to join the group for an optional farewell dinner afterwards.

Day 15 Luxor: Departure Day

Depart at any time.
