Packing Note

All other camping equipment for the trek is provided and included. Mules or alpacas will carry the gear, so you will only be responsible for carrying your daypack, containing what you require for the day. Each passenger is given a duffel bag by our local office, which can hold approximately 7 kg (15.5 lbs), including sleeping bags. Please note that the duffel bags provided are NOT waterproof and you must bring bags or liners to protect your belongings from the rain. The remainder of your luggage will be stored for you at the hotels in Cusco

Day 1 Cusco

Ankunft zu jeder Zeit möglich

Day 2 Cusco/Salkantay Trek

Depart Cusco and transfer to the start of the trail to begin the Salkantay Trek. The day’s hike will begin with the hike up to the incredibly beautiful Humantay Lake. Witness the serene views of the crystalline blue water and spend the night camping under the stars

Day 3 Salkantay Trek

Stunning views fill the day as you hike past the striking snow-capped mountains of Vilcabamba mountain range. Traverse the highest point, Salkantay pass reaching 4,600m (15,092 ft) before descending into valleys nestled in the mountains to the town of Collpabamba. Set up camp for the evening surrounded by lush cloud forest

Day 4 Salkantay Trek

Wandere zur Inka-Stätte Llactapata, von wo aus du deinen ersten Blick auf Machu Picchu erhaschen kannst. Nimm am Nachmittag den Zug nach Aguas Calientes

Day 5 Machu Picchu/Cusco

Genieße eine Führung durch Machu Picchu. Option, vor der Rückfahrt nach Cusco am Abend die Inka-Brücke zu besichtigen, wo die Tour endet

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Cusco

Die Ankunft in Cusco ist zu jeder Zeit möglich. Es sind keine Aktivitäten geplant, du kannst also ins Hotel einchecken und die Stadt erkunden. Wir empfehlen, dich für eine Erkundungstour durch Cusco mit einem Paar komfortablen Schuhen und einem Stadtplan auszurüsten. Warmwasser und Strom können in Peru öfter mal ausfallen (selbst in besseren Hotels und Privathaushalten). Wir bitten um Verständnis, dass wir darauf keinen Einfluss haben

Day 2 Cusco/Salkantay Trek

Day 5 Machu Picchu/Cusco

Hüpfe zeitig aus den Federn, um Machu Picchu im frühen Morgenlicht bewundern zu können. Das ist die beste Zeit, um den Blick auf die „Verlorene Stadt der Inka“ zu genießen. Begleite den lokalen Guide, um eine ausführliche Erklärung der Stätte und Informationen über die Inka-Geschichte zu erhalten, ohne den Druck anderer Reisegruppen zu spüren, die Mitte des Tages ankommen.

Später am Nachmittag geht es mit dem Zug zurück nach Ollantaytambo und anschließend mit dem Minibus nach Cusco, wo wir am Abend ankommen.
